In this seminal feminist essay, Woolf explores the importance of financial independence and personal space for women, weaving a compelling narrative that challenges societal norms and celebrates the power of individual agency.

Mrs. Dalloway:
Set in post-World War I London, this iconic novel follows a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway as she prepares for a party, intertwining multiple perspectives to depict the complexities of human consciousness and the passage of time.

Between the Acts:
Woolf's final novel, "Between the Acts" offers a rich tapestry of characters and themes, blending comedy and tragedy against the backdrop of a summer pageant in rural England, showcasing the author's mastery of narrative experimentation.

The Waves:
A poetic masterpiece, "The Waves" unfolds through the inner monologues of six characters, tracing their interconnected lives from childhood to old age, as they navigate love, friendship, and the search for meaning.

To the Lighthouse:
Regarded as one of Woolf's finest works, "To the Lighthouse" is a lyrical exploration of family dynamics, memory, and the passage of time, set against the backdrop of a family's annual trip to a seaside house.

Orlando:
A dazzling blend of fantasy and biography, "Orlando" follows the adventures of its titular character across centuries and genders, exploring themes of identity, transformation, and the fluidity of human experience. With each book in this collection, Virginia Woolf invites readers on a journey of introspection and discovery, showcasing her unparalleled ability to capture the complexities of human existence with exquisite prose and profound insight.

Lilith's Brood Trilogy 3 Books

Dawn
When Lilith lyapo wakes in a small white room with no doors or windows, she remembers a devastating war, and a husband and child long lost to her.

She finds herself living among the Oankali, a strange race who intervened in the fate of humanity hundreds of years before. They spared those they could from the ruined Earth, and suspended them in a long, deep sleep.

Over centuries, the Oankali learned from the past, cured disease and healed the world. Now they want Lilith to lead her people back home. But salvation comes at a price - to restore humanity, it must be changed forever...

Adulthood Rites
Lilith's son Akin looks like an ordinary child. His family live together on Earth, but not in complete peace. The Oankali saved humanity years before, compelled by the desire to create an extraordinary new race of children. But there are those who resist the Oankali and the salvation they offer.

The first of his kind, Akin is more powerful than any other being. He understands the desire to fight for the independence of humanity. He also fears that, if left alone, humanity will destroy itself again.

And when young Akin is stolen from Lilith and their hybrid family, he soon faces an impossible choice. But first he must reconcile with his own heritage in a world already torn in two.

Imago
Jodahs is a child of the Earth and stars, born from the union between humans and the Oankali, who saved humanity from destruction centuries before.

But Jodahs is approaching adulthood, a metamorphosis that will take him beyond gender and family, and into a great but dangerous unknown.

Frightened and alone, Jodahs must come to terms with this new identity, learn to master lifechanging powers and bring together what's left of humankind - or become the biggest threat to their survival.

Description for the Children's collection:

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 12 Books

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into a new year and a new school where undersized weaklings share the corridors with kids who are taller, meaner and already shaving. Desperate to prove his newfound maturity, which only going up a grade can bring, Greg is happy to have his not-quite-so-cool sidekick, Rowley, along for the ride.

Rodrick Rules
Whatever you do, don't ask Greg about his summer vacation because he definitely doesn't want to talk about it ...It's a brand-new year, and a brand-new journal and Greg is keen to put the humiliating (and secret!) events of last summer firmly behind him. But someone knows everything - someone whose job it is to most definitely not keep anything embarrassing of Greg's private - his big brother, Rodrick. How can Greg make it through this new school year with his not-quite-cool reputation intact?

The Last Straw
Greg's dad, Frank, is on a mission - a mission to make this wimpy kid …well, less wimpy. All manner of 'manly' physical activities are planned, but Greg just about manages to find a way out of them. That is until the military academy is mentioned, and Greg realizes that he's going to have to come up with something very special to get out of this one …

Dog Days
The way I like to spend my summer holidays is in front of the TV, playing video games with the curtains closed and the light turned off. Unfortunately, Mom's idea of the perfect summer holiday is different from mine. Greg's mom has a vision of "family togetherness" that really doesn't sound a whole lot of fun. But there's a brand-new addition to the Heffley family to contend with and it looks like Greg might be outnumbered. It could be a real dog of a summer …

The Ugly Truth
Greg Heffley has always been in a hurry to grow up. But is getting older really all it's cracked up to be? Suddenly Greg is dealing with the pressures of boy-girl parties, increased responsibilities, and even the awkward changes that come with getting older. And after a fight with his best friend Rowley, it looks like Greg is going to have to face the "ugly truth" all by himself …

Cabin Fever
Greg Heffley is in big trouble. School property has been damaged and Greg is the prime suspect. But the crazy thing is, he's innocent! Or at least sort of. The authorities are closing in, but then a surprise blizzard hits and the Heffley family is trapped indoors. Greg knows that when the snow melts he is going to have to face the music but could any punishment be worse than being stuck inside with your family?

The Third Wheel
Greg Heffley is not willing to be the odd man out. A dance at Greg's middle school has everyone scrambling to find a partner, and Greg is determined not to be left by the wayside. So he concocts a desperate plan to find someone anyone! to go with on the big night. But Greg's schemes go hilariously awry, and his only option is to attend the dance with his best friend, Rowley Jefferson, and a female classmate as a "group of friends." But the night is long, and anything can happen along the way. Who will arrive at the dance triumphantly, and who will end up being the third wheel?

Hard Luck
Greg Heffley's on a losing streak. His best friend, Rowley Jefferson, has abandoned him, and finding new friends in middle school is proving to be a tough task. To change his fortunes, Greg decides to take a leap of faith and turn his decisions over to chance. Will a roll of the dice turn things around, or is Greg's life destined to be just another hard luck story

The Long Haul
A family road trip is supposed to be a lot of fun . . . unless, of course, you're the Heffley's. The journey starts off full of promise, then quickly takes several wrong turns. Gas station bathrooms, crazed seagulls, a fender bender, and a runaway pig? not exactly Greg Heffley's idea of a good time. But even the worst road trip can turn into an adventure? and this is one the Heffley's won't soon forget.

Old School
Life was better in the old days. Or was it? That's the question Greg Heffley is asking as his town voluntarily unplugs and goes electronics-free. But modern life has its conveniences, and Greg isn't cut out for an old-fashioned world. With tension building inside and outside the Heffley home, will Greg find a way to survive? Or is going 'old school' just too hard for a kid like Greg.

Double Down
The pressure's really piling up on Greg Heffley. His mom thinks video games are turning his brain to mush, so she wants her son to put down the controller and explore his 'creative side'. As if that's not scary enough, Halloween's just around the corner and the frights are coming at Greg from every angle. When Greg discovers a bag of gummy worms, it sparks an idea. Can he get his mom off his back by making a movie and will he become rich and famous in the process? Or will doubling down on this plan just double Greg's troubles.

Do it Yourself
Now everyone can have their own Wimpy Kid diary! Draw your own Wimpy-Kid-style cartoons, fill in facts and lists, check out the full-colour comics inside and even write your own Wimpy Kid journal, just like Greg.

Charles Dickens Easy Classics 10 Books

A Christmas Carol
On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by a series of ghosts, starting with his old business partner, Jacob Marley. The three spirits which follow, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come, show Scrooge how his mean behaviour has affected those around him. At the end of the story, he is relieved to discover that there is still time for him to change, and we see him transformed into a generous and kind-hearted human being.

Oliver Twist
For all of his early life, Oliver is hungry and poor. Then he runs away to London, where he soon makes new friends – but kind old Fagin and the Artful Dodger are not quite what they seem.

The Old Curiosity Shop

When Little Nell’s grandfather gambles away his curiosity shop to the moneylender Quilp, the girl and the old man flee London. The penniless pair wander the countryside, always in fear of being cornered by Quilp.

Great Expectations
This classic story follows Pip's childhood and young adult years, as a blacksmith's apprentice in a country village. He suddenly comes into a large fortune (his great expectations) from a mysterious benefactor and moves to London, where he enters high society. He thinks he knows where the money has come from, but he turns out to be sadly mistaken. The story also follows Pip's dealings with Estella, a young woman he adores but who cannot return his love.

Nicholas Nickleby
The dramatic tale of the adventures of a young man as he struggles to seek his fortune in Victorian England. Upon the death of his father, 19-year-old Nicholas Nickleby is sent by his uncle, Ralph Nickleby, a mean-spirited moneylender, to serve as an assistant teacher at Dotheboys' Hall.

Hard Times
In Coketown, there's no place for imagination. There are facts and figures and absolutely nothing else or so Thomas Gradgrind thinks. When the circus appears in town, it brings Sissy Jupe with it. A young girl has been abandoned by her father and is taken in by Thomas Gradgrind. Full of fun and energy, will Sissy save the Gradgrind children from a life of fact-and-figure-filled misery before it's too late?

A Tale of Two Cities
The two cities referred to in the title were London, England, and Paris, France, at the time of the French Revolution. During the French Revolution, Dr Alexandre Manette is released after two decades of imprisonment in the Bastille. Shocked to learn he’s alive, his daughter, Lucie, retrieves him. Years later, Lucie and Dr Manette take part in the trial of Charles Darnay, who is found innocent and seeks Lucie’s hand in marriage. When revolutionaries learn that Darnay is related to an evil aristocrat, they imprison him the next time he is in France. Who can rescue him?

David Copperfield
This is loosely based on the life of the author. It tells the story of the hardships, changes, and good fortune that David encounters on his life journey. When David’s mother marries the malevolent Mr Murdstone, David’s childhood happiness is destroyed forever. Can one lonely little boy show the strength and determination to survive the dangers ahead?

Bleak House
Esther, at fourteen, has never known love. Determined to live well, earn some love and overcome the shadow of her birth, she takes her first steps into an unknown world. A family curse, a manipulating lawyer, poverty and secrets threaten to destroy Esther’s world. Are the walls of Bleak House strong enough to protect her and her new friends from such powerful forces? The reader will be caught up in an unfolding mystery full of surprises. Perhaps the biggest secret of all is: Who is Nemo?

Little Dorrit
Amy Dorrit, referred to as Little Dorrit, is born in and lives much of her life at the Marshalsea prison, where her father is imprisoned for debt. She and her siblings earn meagre wages at jobs outside the prison walls, returning nightly to Marshalsea. Little Dorrit works as a seamstress for Mrs Clennam, whose son Arthur takes an interest in the Dorrit family and eventually helps free Mr Dorrit from prison.
