Books2Door was founded in 2004 by Abdul Thadha with a clear mission: to make reading affordable and accessible for every household. What began as a one-man operation selling secondhand books on eBay has grown into a thriving independent bookstore, connecting readers across the UK and internationally with books that spark curiosity, joy, and a lifelong love of reading.
Read Our Story →First time using Books2Door and was very surprised how quick the delivery was. My books arrived in brand new perfect condition. There is no fault with my order and will use this company again.
Books arrived in a perfect condition, thank you. Well packed with extra stuffing so that books don't move around in the box during the transit. I look after all of my books well. I dont like dents and scuffs marks etc Therefore I greatly appreciate the fact that someone paid care to ensure books reach a customer in a perfect condition.
Fabulous! Had a couple of books from this store. I got a free book ( think it was for world book day), for my little granddaughter. Highly recommend this book store.
Absolutely fantastic! Why did I not know about this place before. Ordered a huge order and the price was even cheaper than amazon. Shall always start my book search here in future.
I am a repeat customer for Books 2 Door Limited and have always found them reliable and fantastic value. Delivery is prompt. Packaging is functional. There is always a great choice of books and they offer excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
Great service from the company. Item as described and great value for money. Sent well packed and very fast delivery. Would definitely recommend and will use again
I was a bit nervous that it might be a scam seeing the huge discounts on whole collections of books, but what a pleasant surprise! Brand new books delivered quickly, well packaged (and corners well protected!) for an amazing price. I already look forward to my next order. One minus point, the iPhone app seems to be bugging. The same account credentials used on the website do not display my former order or wishlists.
I've ordered from this website multiple times and every single time the order is super quick and easy. Books come in fantastic edition and there are so many incredible deals, discounts and rewards. I've only had one error out of all of my orders, and their customer service team were quick to help rectify the situation. I would 1000% recommend as a book lover!
I had a great experience ordering from this website. Everything was smooth and easy, from browsing to checkout. The order arrived exactly as expected and the everything was excellent. Overall, a very reliable website and a great online shopping experience. Highly recommended!
I found Book 2 Door Limited, and it was the best thing yet. The many books to choose from, and the prices are really great, I managed to get the books, I was looking for and more, for my family, at such a fantastic price. I highly recommended, Books 2 Door, for everyone who reads, you will not regret it. They provide a wonderful service, what a shop, I love it.

View full detailsReading to or with children is really important for their intellectual well-being. Children sometimes struggle with longer stories so introducing them to poems and nursery rhymes is a great way to encourage their love of reading early on. Poetry is also said to create pathways in children's brains that listening to other types of languages simply does not. With teens, poetry helps them process and express their conflicting emotions in a more controlled and creative way.
In fact, exposing them to poems and rhymes can help children develop three really critical pre-reading and communication skills—phonological awareness, rich vocabulary and background knowledge. Not only can poems and rhyming words help a child develop a good vocabulary, it can also help your child develop phonological awareness. Phonological awareness is the ability to consciously tune in to the sounds of spoken language, to understand them and to talk about them. For example, a three-year-old whose phonological awareness is developing might say something like: "Hey, cat-bat: they sound the same!"
Background knowledge on the other hand is considered a strong predictor of how easily your child will learn to read and write. Several studies have confirmed that a child’s awareness and knowledge of their background will strongly impact their social and academic success. Teachers, speech-language therapists and linguists; unanimously agree that it is vital for babies and young children to hear the kind of language used in poems and rhymes. This is because the sometimes unusual words, repetitions and speech patterns contained in poems written for children help enrich your child's intellect.
Here are some poetry books that we think will move your child, stir something within them and whilst at it; also inculcate the love of poetry in their hearts. What Are Little Girls Made of? If you are a parent raising a feminist little girl, then this poetry book by Award-winning author, Jeanne Willis is just what she needs. Think you know your favourite classic nursery rhymes? Read this picture book and think again! In this witty reworking of popular nursery rhymes, Georgie Porgie doesn't dare to make the girls cry, Little Bo-Peep's sheep are all present and correct, thank you, and it's the queen, of course, who fixes Humpty Dumpty. With the combination of Jeanne Willis's brilliantly funny poems and Isabelle Follath’s charming, witty illustrations; these nursery rhymes prove that girls can be the heroes of any story. This remixed nursery rhyme collection is the perfect gift book for any child (or adult!), to read aloud or enjoy alone.
Hot Like Fire Bind-up by Valerie Bloom is a book of beautifully crafted poetry that covers a wide range of subjects from global pollution, maths homework problems to dealing with the death of a beloved pet. Full of sunshine and fire; Bloom’s poetry is fun and energetic with the mixed use of standard English and other dialects; that come together to make delightful poetry for kids.
