M.G. Leonard is an award-winning, British writer of children's books, best known for her best-selling Beetle Boy series. Before turning to a writing career, Leonard worked in the music, theatre, and film industries.
Leonard was born in Brighton and grew up in a family that didn't have many books. This lack, however, didn't stifle her creativity. Her love for storytelling was evident even in her early years. She was inspired by various art forms, including drama and music, which she explored extensively during her early career.
After studying English and acting, Leonard worked as a digital media producer for the National Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe, in addition to working as a freelance producer of music videos and short films.
Leonard's work is known for combining mystery, adventure, and humour with a deep underlying passion for the natural world, especially insects.
