About the author: Jill Murphy was brought up in the city of London and pretty much lived and breathed as a storyteller. As a child she was always working on illustrations and drawings and surrounded herself in the world of storytelling through her drawings, her skills in this craft developed over the years. After Murphy’s graduation, she worked on her first novel called The Worst Witch, this was complete in just 2 years right after her graduation at Chelsea Art School and Croydon Art School. After initial rejections like many successful authors experience in the beginning of their career, Murphy was contacted by a small publisher who was keen on her work.
