Jigsaw puzzles come in a set of varied, irregularly shaped pieces that when properly assembled, form a complete picture or a map. The Jigsaw puzzles are so named because the original picture attached to wood or paperboard is cut into random pieces using a jigsaw, which cuts intricate lines and curves. These cut-out pieces are carefully and intricately cut in a way such that when put together; they complete a picture.

Jigsaw puzzles however are a lot more than this simple definition. Jigsaw puzzles are an important piece of most of our childhoods. A piece of our childhood that has tickled our brains as children and also helped us develop our cognitive skills. Jigsaw puzzless are like a childhood friend that we all cherish and a childhood memory that your child also deserves to have in their lives.

When you give your kid a jigsaw puzzle; you are not just giving them a simple puzzle game or board game. You are giving them hours of creative thinking, the gift of hand and eye coordination and, of course, hours of fun.

Here are some jigsaw puzzles for children derived from children’s favourite books, games, nature, animals and even maps. Browse through our Jigsaw puzzles collection as we have managed to stock up on some of the most fun and challenging jigsaw puzzles for each age group…

Usborne Book and Jigsaw Animals of the World by Sam Smith for children aged 7+. Give your child the opportunity to travel across the world through this jigsaw puzzle of the world map. Through this puzzle you can allow your kid to explore amazing facts about our planet and its creatures. With this colourful book and 200-piece jigsaw puzzle; give your child hours of fun and also a chance to learn fun facts and fascinating details about this planet we inhabit.

Adult Jigsaw Puzzle Moomins on the Riviera: 1000-piece Jigsaw Puzzles by Flame Tree Studio If your child is a Moomin fan; then this is the jigsaw puzzle for them. If you are a Moomin fan; this is still the jigsaw puzzle you want to get for your child so they develop a love for the Moomins and good literature at large.

A 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle in a square box; this one is part of an exciting series from the very popular Flame Tree, featuring powerful works of art. Intended as a jigsaw puzzle for adults and children aged 13+ this jigsaw is designed to satisfy your need for a challenge, with your favourite charming Moomin characters. P.S; this set is not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts.

In the event that you are not familiar with the Moomins; here is why you need to familiarise yourself and your child with the series and its endearing characters. Tove Jansson was a Finnish-Swedish writer and artist who created the Moomin characters in 1935 and her last Moomin book was published in 1970. However, the Moomin series and its characters have out-lived their creator and continue to be adapted and enjoyed by several generations even today.

Usborne Book and Jigsaw: Tree of Life by Alice James A colourful 300-piece puzzle featuring a graphic illustration of the tree of life, this jigsaw puzzle features everything from microscopic bacteria to towering trees and sleepy sloths. Accompanied by a book packed with information about the tree of life, the plants and creatures in it—one of the best jigsaw puzzles available; this one is perfect for children 5 and up.
