Jane Austen Books
Jane Austen is a world-renowned author and a pioneer of literature and paved the way for generations of authors, in particular female authors. Austen was born in Hampshire, England, in 1775 and is primarily known for her six key novels: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. wo of these books were published after her death. Austen had a short life, but her legacy and the impact she made on literature have changed the course of history.
All of her novels contain heavy criticism of high society at the time and the expectations of women. Austen regularly wrote about the expectations of marriage and the demand for women to be married by a certain age. Jane Austen herself never married but was able to live independently on the profits earned from her writing, so she didn’t need to.
Here at Books2Door, we have a selection of Jane Austen’s work for you to look through. For a complete collection of the most popular Jane Austen books, check out Jane Austen Complete 6 Books Box Set. If you’re a fan of Jane Austen, you have to check out the Bronte sisters. Between the three of them, they have produced some beloved classics. Having grown up with the landscape of the Yorkshire Moors beside them, their books are often gothic and dark whilst presenting the social climate facing young women at the time. We have The Complete Brontë Sisters Collection 7 Books Box Set by Charlotte, Emily & Anne Brontë. For other classic authors, don’t forget to check out our Classic Fiction page.
