Horrible Histories Savage 10 Book Collection is a set of books that bring history to life uniquely and engagingly. Written by Terry Deary and illustrated by Martin Brown, these books are perfect for children and adults who want to learn more about history in a fun and exciting way.

The collection consists of 10 books, each focusing on a different era of history, from the Savage Stone Age to the Vile Victorians. The books are filled with fascinating facts, gruesome details, and humorous illustrations that make history come alive.

One of the things that make this collection so special is the way it presents history. Instead of simply reciting facts and figures, the books use a storytelling approach to bring history to life.

Each book is filled with stories of real people, from the heroic to the villainous, who lived during that era of history. For example, in the Savage Stone Age book, readers learn about the life of Ug, a caveman who discovers fire and uses it to become a hero in his tribe. In the Woeful Second World War book, readers follow the story of a young evacuee named Willie who experiences the dangers and hardships of war.

The books are also filled with interesting facts and details that readers may not have learned in school. For example, did you know that Roman toilets were sometimes built over rivers so that the water could wash away the waste? Or that the Aztecs believed that sacrificing human hearts to the gods would keep the sun rising every day?

The illustrations in the books are also a highlight. Martin Brown's drawings are both humorous and informative, adding a visual element to the stories and facts presented in the text. The illustrations also help to bring the characters to life, making it easier for readers to imagine what life was like during that era of history.
