From cult webcomic to Kickstarter success story, and now a hit Netflix series! Grab the first four volumes of Heartstopper by Alice Oseman and get caught up in this heartwarming tale of boy meets boy.

The Heartstopper books by Alice Oseman are a young adult LGBTQ+ series that captivates and resonates with readers of all ages. The series consists of four volumes and follows the blossoming relationship between two high school students, Charlie and Nick.

Volume 1 begins with Charlie, a popular and talented rugby player, and Nick, a quiet and reserved student, both attending a prestigious private school in England. Despite their vastly different personalities and social standings, Charlie and Nick form an unexpected bond. Over the course of the book, we see their friendship develop into something more as they navigate their feelings for each other in a world where being openly gay is still a challenge.

In volume 2, Charlie and Nick’s relationship is put to the test as they face the difficulties that come with being in a same-sex relationship. This includes facing judgment and prejudice from their peers and families, as well as the pressure to conform to societal norms. Despite these obstacles, the two young men continue to support and encourage each other as they navigate the complexities of their relationship.

Volume 3 delves deeper into Charlie and Nick’s relationship as they prepare to attend university. This volume focuses on their growth as individuals and how their relationship evolves as they experience new and exciting opportunities. They also face new challenges and confront the difficult truths about themselves and their relationship. Through it all, Charlie and Nick remain committed to each other, demonstrating the strength and resilience of their love.

Finally, in volume 4, Charlie and Nick’s relationship reaches new heights as they prepare to start the next chapter of their lives together. This final volume is a testament to the power of love and the importance of self-discovery and acceptance. Through their journey, Charlie and Nick learn to appreciate and accept themselves for who they are and how their relationship has helped them become the people they were meant to be.

One of the standout elements of the Heartstopper books is the representation of LGBTQ+ relationships. The series is a refreshing and authentic portrayal of same-sex love, highlighting the difficulties and triumphs that come with it. The story offers a much-needed representation of LGBTQ+ relationships in young adult literature and serves as a source of comfort and encouragement for those who may not have seen themselves represented in this way before.

The series is also a testament to the power of friendship and the importance of supporting and encouraging those we care about. Charlie and Nick’s friendship is the foundation of their relationship, and it’s inspiring to see the lengths they go to support each other. The Heartstopper books remind us that love and friendship can conquer all obstacles and that no one should ever be afraid to be themselves.

The Heartstopper books are an exceptional series that captivates and resonates with readers of all ages. The series offers a refreshing and authentic representation of LGBTQ+ relationships, as well as a testament to the power of love and friendship. With its beautiful writing, relatable characters, and compelling story, the Heartstopper books are a must-read for anyone who loves young adult literature and is looking for a positive representation of same-sex love.

Description from the publisher:

Heartstopper Volume One

Charlie and Nick are at the same school, but they've never met ... until one day when they're made to sit together. They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn't think he has a chance.

But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is more interested in Charlie than either of them realised.

Heartstopper Volume Two

Nick and Charlie are best friends. Nick knows Charlie's gay, and Charlie is sure that Nick isn't.

But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is discovering all kinds of things about his friends, his family ... and himself.

Heartstopper Volume Three

Charlie didn't think Nick could ever like him back, but now they're officially boyfriends. Nick's even found the courage to come out to his mum.

But coming out isn't just something that happens once - there's Nick's older brother and a school trip to Paris, not to mention all the other friends and family - and life can be hard, even with someone who loves you by your side. As their feelings get more serious, Charlie and Nick will need each other more than ever before.

Heartstopper Volume Four

Charlie didn't think Nick could ever like him back, but now they're officially boyfriends. Charlie's beginning to feel ready to say those three little words: I love you.

Nick's been feeling the same, but he's got a lot on his mind - not least coming out to his dad and the fact that Charlie might have an eating disorder.

As summer turns to autumn and a new school year begins, Charlie and Nick are about to learn a lot about what love means.

About the Author:

Alice Oseman is an English author, illustrator, and graphic novelist best known for her critically acclaimed young adult novels. Born in 1994 in Kent, England, Oseman was a shy and introverted child who found solace in books and art. This love for storytelling and illustration led her to pursue a career in writing, and she has since become one of the most important voices in young adult literature.

Oseman's debut novel, Solitaire, was published in 2014, and it was met with critical acclaim. The book tells the story of a young woman who feels like she's stuck in a rut, and it was praised for its relatable and honest portrayal of mental health. This was followed by her second novel, Radio Silence, which was published in 2016 and received even more attention and accolades.

Her most famous work, however, is the Heartstopper series, which consists of four volumes. The series follows the relationship between two high school students, Charlie and Nick, as they navigate their feelings for each other in a world where being openly gay is still a challenge. The series has been praised for its representation of LGBTQ+ relationships and for its positive and uplifting message about self-acceptance and love.

In addition to her writing, Oseman is also a talented illustrator and graphic novelist. Her graphic novel, Loveless, was published in 2019 and received widespread praise for its bold and unapologetic portrayal of love and relationships.
