Alex Rider was born on February 13th 1996, to John Rider an M16 agent and also Helen Beckett a nurse. After a plane crash incident which took place causing the death of Alex’s parents, Alex was raised by his paternal uncle Ian Rider, they developed a close relationship together as Alex grew older, they travelled to many different places including Paris, Spain and many more. Alex’s talents were evident as the story develops and he was eventually forced to join the M16. Alex loved Language and Physical Education during his studies and he became proficient in languages, ultimately learning several languages and becoming fluent in English, Spanish, French, German and having basic knowledge of Japanese and Italian. Alex was interested in physical sports and achieved a black belt in Karate and developed excellent skills in Aikido. Alex also honed his skills in other sports and extreme sports too like abseiling, scuba diving, mountain climbing, cycling, surfing, shooting, snowboarding and kayaking. Alex Rider’s brave and wilful personality is showcased throughout the story, Alex became hugely independent after his parents death.
