Cat Books 🐱

Cats have been a much-loved part of our families for many years. These smart furry felines are an incredibly important and beloved part of 12.2 million people's households in the UK alone. By spending time with any cat, you quickly see why they are so adored. To celebrate our favourite whiskered friends, here at Books2Door, we have put together a collection of books featuring cats. Cat Themed Picture Books

Do you have a cat that your little one loves? Or maybe you're thinking of getting a cat and want to explain the importance of caring for them to your children. If either of these applies to you, there are some great books for children to enjoy that feature the purrfect best friends. 

Mog the Cat is a beloved character created by British writer and illustrator Judith Kerr. Mog is a cheeky tabby cat who gets into frequent scrapes and predicaments with his family, the Thomases. Kerr's picture books are truly remarkable, she encapsulates the mischievousness of domestic cats whilst showing the true love and care their humans have for them. Another fantastic picture book collection is T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Cats. Illustrated by Arthur Robbins, these picture books have bought to life the famous poetry collection by Eliot. This poetry collection contains the fantastic tales of Jellicle Cats, Mr Mistoffelees: The Conjuring Cat, Macavity: The Mystery Cat and many more. These stories were the inspiration for Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical Cats. 

Cat Chapter Books 

If you are looking for a cat-themed adventure for 7-9-year-olds, check out Cat Kid! From the creatures of Dog-Man and Captain Underpants comes an adventure filled with all sorts of characters. For 9-14-year-old readers, check out the action-packed Warrior Cats series. Join the gangs of wild cats as they fight for survival within their clans. Each cat must also follow strict rules to keep themselves and others safe. They also all give thanks to their ancestors for food, health and strength. Cat Fiction Books 

Why should kids get all the fun cat books? There are so many amazing books out there waiting to be read by cat lovers of all ages, including adults! When discussing cats in literature, it would be hard to miss the wonderful A Street Cat Named Bob Series.
