Disney Reimaginations
Autumn Publishing, an imprint of Bonnier Books, has produced various titles. This includes the increasingly popular Disney reimaginations like The Twisted Tales Series and The Queens Council series. These books take classic, and well-known stories made famous by Disney and turn them on their heads to create alternative and exciting new tales.
Check out Disney Twisted Tales Vol. 1-3 Box Set to discover what would have happened if the villains had the upper hand. A Whole New World explores what would have happened if Aladdin had never found the magic lamp, he is just trying to survive, Jasmine is about to enter into an arranged marriage, and Jafar has the lamp. Once Upon a Dream sees the Prince kiss Aurora only for the curse to remain, she stays asleep and must fight her own way out of a dangerous world of dreams. As Old as Time follows Belle as she learns more about her family and the beast's curse. Upon touching the beast's cursed rose, she is hit with visions of her mother, and Belle soon realises that it was her mother who cursed the beast and his manors inhabitants. Belle and the beast must work together in this thrilling adventure to uncover the mystery of their families and break the curse.
The Queens Council series continues the tales where the films left off. Rebel Rose follows Belle after she has released the beast and the inhabitants of his house from their curse and marries the Prince. But it is 1789 in Paris, and France is on the brink of revolution. Belle is now living a life of Royalty, far from her previous provincial life, and must make crucial decisions about her values, strength and political power. Feather and Flame further explores Mulan's responsibility as the heir to the throne and a strong female warrior. Feather and Flame beautifully blends Chinese history, folklore, and magic to tell the next chapter of Mulan's story. For both epic stories, check out our set, Disney Queen's Council Series 2 Books Collection By Emma Theriault & Livia Blackburne.
In 2018, Bonnier Books published the essential book The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. The book tells the story of Lale Sokolov and how he fell in love with Gita Furman while working as the concentration camp tattooist. Morris's internationally bestselling book is based on the memories of Lali Sokolov and his wife, Gita and their horrendous experiences at Auschwitz.
Morris has since published two other books, which are set at the same time and location as The Tattooist of Auschwitz but narrate the events through different prisoners' perspectives. The second book is Cilka's Journey, which follows sixteen-year-old Cilka as she is taken into Auschwitz-Birkenau and subsequently favourited by one of the SS soldiers. This leads to a horrific journey of survival and what it means to survive. The final book in the trilogy is Three Sisters. Also set in Auschwitz-Birkenau, this novel follows three sisters, Cibi, Magda and Livia, as the Nazi rule forces them into concentration camps. They promise themselves that they will stay together and survive together. For all three books, check out our collection, Tattooist of Auschwitz Collection 3 Books Set.
