This stunning paperback collection features Suzanne Collins's best-selling trilogy The Hunger Games. This set features all three books in the popular science fiction dystopian adventure series. Written from the perspective of sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, living in the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem, she unravels the oppressive regimes and the social inequality between the districts and the overpowering Capitol state.

This collection features all three novels in the coming-of-age series. The first book in the series starts with The Hunger Games featuring Katniss Everdeen as she is forced to participate in the deadliest game show, surviving night after night of relentless dangers, fighting to the death where there can only be one winner. The book’s significant positive reception led to a movie adaptation released in 2012, featuring Jennifer Lawrence as the fierce Katniss Everdeen.

Catching Fire is the second book in Suzanne Collins’s phenomenal, worldwide best-selling Hunger Games trilogy. Join Katniss Everdeen in another thrilling adventure as she must make difficult choices after her shocking actions during the finale of the deadliest Hunger Games. Little does she know that her actions have caused a much bigger stir than intended, affecting more than just her own survival but also causing unrest rippling throughout the other districts. In a twisting turn of events, the Capitol announces the 75th Hunger Games with a twist- tributes will be selected from the surviving victors of the previous Games. Suzanne Collins continues the story of Katniss Everdeen, testing her more than ever before, and surprising readers at every turn. A shocking revelation that echoes the extremes of a not-so-distant future, fans of the series will witness Katniss’ fight for survival, manipulation and her battle for redemption if she is to survive the Games once more.

The series concludes with Mockingjay, the third and final book in Suzanne Collins’s dystopian survival adventure Hunger Games trilogy. After the shocking events at the end of Catching Fire, the action picks right up to Katniss’ rescue from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell. If Katniss could go home, she would, except District Twelve has been destroyed and Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District Thirteen has emerged from the depths of the shadows and myths and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans- except for Katniss. Drawn in the whirlwind of a revolution, the success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss’ willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for the countless lives at stake, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. Katniss must become the symbol of the rebellion- she must become the Mockingjay- no matter what the personal cost.

Fans of The Hunger Games trilogy will certainly enjoy our other range of YA dystopian box sets including James Dashner’s thrilling Maze Runner series or Veronica Roth’s Divergent series, to keep young readers occupied for hours on end.

About the Author:

Suzanne Collins is an American television writer and author, most known for works such as The Underland Chronicles and The Hunger Games. According to Collins, The Hunger Games series was inspired partly by the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, combined with her father’s career in the Air Force. The common themes in her work encapsulate the brutal effects of war, poverty, and starvation but also freedom, family and friendship. The film adaptation of her works stars many notable celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harelson.

In June 2019, Collins announced that a prequel to The Hunger Games would be released in May 2020, revealing the title: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The prequel is based on the life of the antagonist of The Hunger Games trilogy, President Coriolanus Snow, 64 years before the events of the first novel.

From the Publisher:

The Hunger Games
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one girl and one boy between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has also resolved to outwit the creators of the games.

Catching Fire
After winning the brutal Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta return to their district, hoping for a peaceful future. But their victory has caused rebellion to break out ... and the Capitol has decided that someone must pay. As Katniss and Peeta are forced to visit the districts on the Capitol's Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. Unless they can convince the world that they are still lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.

Mockingjay
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what's worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss's family, not her friends, not the people of District 12.
