Alan Titchmarsh Books

British author, horticulture expert and popular TV presenter; Alan Titchmarsh first started his career in 1968 as an apprentice gardener at Ilkley Council. After which he dabbled in gardening journalism in 1974 as an assistance editor with Hamlyn Publishing. Soon after, he started writing his own gardening books.

Having acquired his experience in the field; Alan then went on to join television as a horticulture expert and shot to fame with BBC’s popular TV programmes like The Nature of Britain, British Isles: A Natural History, How to be a Gardener, Ground Force and Gardeners World

Now an ace gardener, established author and renowned TV presenter; he has written more than forty gardening books, as well as six best-selling novels and two memoirs. Titchmarsh was made MBE in the millennium New Year Honours List and holds a Victoria Medal of Honour, the Royal Horticultural Society's highest award. He lives with his wife and a menagerie of animals in Hampshire where he writes his books and gardens organically.
