BBC News supports our donation to Gaza bookstore.

It’s not every day that BBC News comes to your offices to film, so when they arrived – we were delighted.

Books2Door were invited to speak to BBC News about a very important campaign after learning that a bookstore in the Gaza strip was destroyed by recent airstrikes.

Being a small business, with our head office based in Leicester, we truly appreciate the support and awareness from a national news outlet. Our very own founder of Books2Door, Abdul Thada, spoke to the BBC News about the 1000 book donation made to Samir Mansour’s bookstore in Gaza, in order to help rebuild this much-loved library and community centre.

Abdul came across the incredible campaign online and immediately rallied up the Books2Door team. Disheartened to learn about the tragic destruction of the bookstore in Gaza and the global support to rebuild it – we knew immediately that we could help too.

“I felt compelled to help. This business is 21 years old and it’s where children in Gaza were getting their English literature books from.”

A total of 1000 books were donated and among this included some of the best British children’s literature. From David Walliams to Jane Austen and Shakespeare, this donation signifies a commitment from Books2Door to help reinstate that love for children’s books internationally.

Our team will continue to support the GoFundMe cause which aims to raise $250,000.

The clip aired on Monday 14th June on the lunchtime and evening news.
